Prizma Supported ScottsMiracle-Gro with 2011 Corporate Responsibility Reporting

ScottsMiracle-Gro recently published its 2011 Corporate Responsibility (CR) report. ScottsMiracle-Gro is the world’s leading provider of lawn products and services with approximately $3 billion in worldwide sales. Prizma's Mehrdad Nazari supported the generation of this web-based report which utilized the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI G3) sustainability reporting framework. The report is structured around engagement and outreach, product responsibility, operational footprint, workplace and culture.

The report details a number of SMG’s commitments and goals, and highlights progress made to date. These include elimination of phosphorus in its market-leading Turf Builder® lawn maintenance products by the end of 2012. Other goals include 50% reduction of waste to landfill, decreasing of greenhouse gas emissions by 20% (all normalized by sales), 30% recycled or renewable content in packaging, and creation of over 1,000 community gardens and green spaces, all by the end of 2018.
