Centerra Gold Extends US$150M Revolving Credit Facility With EBRD

Centerra Gold Inc. recently announced it has extended its existing US$150 million revolving credit facility with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) until February 17, 2016. Prizma has been assisting Centerra and its Kumtor operation with their corporate responsibility and sustainability reporting efforts and other activities. Centerra is a leading North American-based gold producer and is the largest Western-based gold producer in Central Asia.

EBRD continues to work with Centerra, including its Kumtor Gold operation in the Kyrgyz Republic. For close to 20 years EBRD has invested and supported the sustainable and transparent development of the mining sector in the Kyrgyz Republic, including supporting EITI implementation and promoting private sector participation in the sector. EBRD has also been supportive of efforts that Centerra and the Kyrgyz government are making to co-operatively and fairly restructure the Kumtor Project.

Prizma has been assisting Centerra with its corporate responsibility reporting for the past two reporting cycles. Prizma has also been assisting Kumtor Gold with its sustainability reporting efforts during the same period. In addition, Prizma has been engaged by Kumtor to contribute to a series of other initiatives.

Examples of Prizma's other sustainability reporting related efforts include assisting Lucara Diamond with its GRI-G3 and G4 reporting efforts, facilitating a stakeholder panel review of the World Bank's GRI-G4 reporting efforts, and an assurance engagement for a mining company with operating assets in Europe and North America. Previously, Prizma has also contributed to sustainability reporting efforts of other mining companies, ranging from Red Back Mining (now part of Kindross) and Gold Reserve.
