Postcard from Portugal

Recently, I had a chance to join my colleague Petrus Gildenhuys as part of an AA1000 assurance assignment and visit Portugal. It was a beautiful drive to site: the undulating landscape was interrupted by idyllic villages, and we lost count of the number of storks we noticed along the way. Prizma re-engaged by Kumtor Gold

Prizma was re-engaged by the Kumtor Gold Company to provide environmental & sustainability consulting services. The Kumtor gold mine, part of Centerra Gold, is the largest western-operated gold mine located in the Kyrgyz Republic. Prizma's engagement includes supporting Kumtor with the development of its annual environmental and sustainability report, using the GRI framework, and studies needed to pursue certification under the International Cyanide Management Institute’s (ICMI) Cyanide Code. Previously, Prizma assisted Kumtor with projects ranging from formulating it's biodiversity management strategy to training community relations officers (CROs). FT IFC Sustainable Finance Awards

On June 13, 2013, the Financial Times and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) announced the winners of the 2013 FT/IFC Sustainable Finance Awards. These awards went to M-KOPA of Kenya winning the Award for Excellence in Sustainable Finance, Banco Santander taking the Sustainable Global Bank of the Year transaction prize, and Impax Asset Management of the UK recognized as Sustainable Investor of the Year.
